Getting help

Who to contact about a GLP-1 problem

Emergency care, Poison Help, the prescriber, the pharmacy and billing each have a different role.

A provider may offer several ways to make contact. Choosing the right one can prevent a medical question from sitting in an administrative queue. The categories below are a contact guide, not a complete symptom checklist or a tool for deciding that a problem is safe to ignore.

Poison Help: a possible medicine error

HRSA's Poison Help service connects callers with trained poison experts, free and confidentially, around the clock. Call when you suspect an error or overdose, even if you are not sure what happened. Have the product container available if possible, along with the timing and details you know. Do not delay the call to assemble a perfect record.

Tell the expert about the actual product and amount if known. Follow the advice they give for the situation. This website cannot calculate whether a suspected exposure is dangerous or supply a corrective dose.

The clinician: symptoms and treatment questions

Contact the prescribing professional about symptoms, treatment response or a proposed change in care. Serious or persistent symptoms may need prompt assessment; a routine message system is not a substitute for urgent care. MedlinePlus identifies persistent stomach pain, sometimes spreading to the back, among symptoms requiring immediate medical contact with tirzepatide.

If a problem feels urgent or you cannot reach the treating team promptly, seek appropriate urgent medical care. Use 911 for the emergency signs above. This guide cannot determine which diagnosis explains a symptom.

The pharmacist: product and instruction questions

The dispensing pharmacist can clarify the actual label, concentration, device, storage requirements and delivery concerns. Have the package available. A dosing question should be answered against the exact prescription, not through a generic comparison with another person's medicine.

If the pharmacy and prescriber give apparently inconsistent information, ask them to reconcile it. Avoid deciding independently which version to follow.

Billing support: an order or payment question

Use the administrative service for invoices, renewal settings, shipment tracking and cancellation terms. If your message includes a medical concern, make that clear and use the designated clinical route. A refund request and a safety question may need to be handled at the same time by different people.

Save these contact routes before treatment begins. Keep a small record of important replies and instructions. Good preparation does not remove every risk, but it makes the next call easier to place when a question arises.
